Daughter and niece of pupils of Enrique Granados, Alicia grew up in a very musical environment. In addition to this, she was also taught, from a very early age, by Frank Marshall, pupil and continuator of the Granados Academy. It was there that she met Rubinstein, Sauer, Cortot and other great pianists of that time.

Although she had already given a few small recitals,her debut with an orchestra took place with the maestros Joan Lamote de Grignon in Barcelona and Enrique Fernandez Arbos in Madrid, at the beginning of 1936.

After 1939,she started to be sought after by Musical Societies and European orchestras.

Debut in the United States in 1954, when Alfred the Wallestein invited to tour with the Los Angeles Philharmonic from 1964 until 2003 he served each year by 3 concert tours.

Her tours of concerts have reached the five continents: Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Oceania.

Among the great quantity of prizes received, we can mention that she has been invested Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universities of Michigan, Middlebury College-Vermont and Carnegie Mellon; she is Honorary Academician of the Royal Academies of Fine Arts of San Fernando of Madrid (1988), Nuestra Senora de las Angustias of Granada (1994) and Sant Jordi of Barcelona (2000).She has also been awarded the Prince of Asturias Prize(Oviedo, 1994),the Guerrero Foundation of Spanish Music Prize(Madrid 1999),and UNESCO (Paris, 1995).She is likewise Commandeur dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Paris, 1988) and Gold Medal to the Merit of the Fine Arts (Madrid,
19882), among others.

Her recording career has been recognized with 14 Grammy Award nominations for Grammy Awards and 4 granted (Burbank, Ca., 1974, 1975, 1988, 1991), 3 Edison Awards (Amsterdam, 1968, 1978, 1989), 2nd Grand Prix du Disque (Paris, 1960, 1974), 2 Record of the Year (London, 1971, 1974), 1 Deutche Schallplattenpreis (Hamburg, 1979) and Franz Liszt Prize 1 (Budapest, 1980).

Director of the Marshall Academy of Barcelona, and President of the Granados-Marshall Musical Association.

On 25 September 2009 in Barcelona dies age 86.
